Go back to the Bronze Age and watch how a Bronze Age sword is cast.

Learn how our ancestors made tools and weapons using bronze. During this fascinating FREE demonstration, we shall show you how our ancestors made a sword out of solid bronze.

Watch cast-master Jonathan prepare a sand mould ready for casting. The furnace will then be fired-up (1,000 degrees!) to melt the bronze. Whilst waiting, you will learn more about the Bronze Age and maybe handling some replica implements. Jonathan will then pour the liquid bronze into the prepared mould. After just two minutes the sword will be lifted from the mould and quenched in water. Welcome to the Bronze Age!
