The Bushcraft Banquet 2023 Hosted By Ray Mears

Do join us for what will be another superb evening in our series of The Bushcraft Banquet – this year set in the stunning courtyard of Stanford Hall and kindly sponsored by Petromax/Feuerhand.

 

Upon arrival, you’ll be invited by our lovely friend (and your host for the evening) Ray Mears, to join him at the side of The River Avon for a refreshing glass of bubbly and a mouth watering selection of homemade Canapés.

 

Whilst we relax, our Woodland Chefs Kev Keane, Kevan Palmer and their team will be cooking many of the menu items on open fires a short distance away from us.

 

As the sun sets, we shall take our seats at our round, white-clothed tables in the enchanting setting of the cobbled Stables Courtyard. 

 

Illuminated by colourful Feuerhand Baby 276 lanterns and adorned with woodland flowers, each table seats 8 guests so if you are arriving as a party of 3 or more, please let us know in order that we can reserve places in advance for you. 

 

You’ll be presented with a sumptuous meal, paired with plenty of specially selected wines (and soft drinks).

 

There will be some live music and opportunity to win some fantastic prizes, kindly donated by our Bushcraft Banquet 2023 sponsors, Petromax/Feuerhand.

Hors D’oeuvre.

Homemade Wild Game Terrine of locally sourced pheasant, hare and pigeon. Served with kimchi, sauerkraut, pickled rhubarb and accompanied by Turkish flat breads.

Vegetable Terrine (Ve).

Main Course.

Eastern Mediterranean Moussaka. Comprising aubergine together with Oxfordshire procured wild venison, seasoned with cinnamon and nutmeg and topped with a creamy white sauce. Accompanied by lemon roasted potatoes, this delightful plate will be baked until golden brown in Petromax FT9 Dutch ovens over open fire. Served with a side of peppery, green leaves.

A delightful home baked Orange Cake drizzled with a spiced syrup and served with homemade Blueberry Ice Cream.

  • Only 100 tickets will be available for this exclusive dinner.
  • Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any food allergies or any other dietary requirements.
  • We would also be grateful to learn if you wish to be seated next to guests who may have booked under separate cover – whereas we can’t guarantee it, we shall try our level best to accommodate your request.
  • Please note that the event is non-refundable but should the worst happen, then we shall endeavour to re-sell your booking for you.
  • Once you’ve booked, please check for your email confirmation. If it’s not in your inbox then do check your junk folder. You’ll need this and your exclusive wristband (please collect from The Bushcraft Magazine Information Point in the Main Arena). It is preferred that Group bookings arrive at the event together.

  • Children aged 14 and under qualify for a child ticket. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Soft drinks will be made available. If you feel that the menu is unsuitable for your child, no problem – just let us know well in advance and our chefs will arrange an alternative meal for you.
