Blacksmithing In The Old Forge

To the rear of Stanford Hall lies the Ancient Forge – last year, for the first time in a number of generations, saw The Bushcraft Show bring life back to this stunning piece of history.

Equipped with hammers, anvils, tongs & chisels you will, under the expert tutelage of our resident Blacksmith, hand forge your very own functional tool.

Choose to craft one of the following items listed below: a Viking neck knife, a fire poker, or a toasting fork.

 

You are advised to book your session as soon as possible as they always sell out.

Description

  • Duration average: 90min
  • Location: The Old Forge, Rose Garden, rear of Stanford Hall.
  • Skill Level: Novice to Intermediate
  • Children under the age of 16 are welcome to participate but must be accompanied/supervised at all times by an adult.
  • Whereas Fido is most welcome to join you at The Bushcraft Show, no dogs/pets are allowed in the forge area please.
  • You must purchase a Bushcraft Show entry ticket before booking classes/workshops.
